Quality Inspector
£30,000 plus benefits
Working for a busy manufacturing company in Huntingdon. Our client is looking for a shop Floor Quality Inspector to help ensure that they achieve the highest level of quality product continuously. Reporting directly to the quality manager, you will be responsible for all forms of quality inspection of our clients products
Main Duties for the Quality Inspector:
● Proactively identify quality issues and bring to the attention of the Quality Systems Manager.
● Inspect all necessary components made internally and externally ensuring they have been manufactured to the correct level of quality.
● Report quality issues via the non-conformance system and quarantine non-conforming parts.
● Assist with raising non-conformance reports and communicating with suppliers and customers to resolve issues.
● Complete inspection reports for critical components.
● Support the development of a robust quality system.
● Assist with organising the calibration of measuring equipment.
● Constantly following all company Health & Safety policies and procedures.
● Conduct visual inspection, manual hard gauge checks, verification of part marking and evaluation of supporting documentation.
● Using company CMM equipment where required
● Record inspection findings and prepare reports for communication across the manufacturing team.
● Assist in the development of final inspection plans for new projects within manufacturing.
● Assist in identifying and resolving problems using problem solving techniques to find root cause
Skills & Experience required for the Quality Inspector:
● Ability to engage with shop floor personnel and management and communicate accordingly when dealing with quality objectives.
● Enthusiastic and able to influence continuous improvement in a fast-paced environment.
● Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
● Experience inspecting precision machined components (Desirable).
● Knowledge of total quality management or similar would be an advantage.
● A good knowledge of manufacturing & machining.
● Attention to detail with a can do attitude.
● Able to read and work from technical information.
● Able to use conventional measuring equipment.
● Conversant with problem solving and lean tools.
● Able to work well in a team and also as an individual.
Hours of work for the Quality Inspector:
Monday to Wednesday: 07:00 - 16:00 (with a 30-minute break) Thursday: 07:00 - 15:30 ( with a 30-minute break ) Friday: 07:00 - 11:00
