Job Description
CDS Labour is currently recruiting for an experienced Quality Inspector to join an established aerospace precision engineering company based in Harlow . This is a permanent opportunity for someone with experience in mechanical or precision inspection who is confident working with engineering drawings, tolerances and a range of measuring equipment.
The Role
You will join an established inspection department, carrying out first-off, in-process and final inspection of precision CNC-machined components. You will be responsible for ensuring components meet the required quality standards and specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out first-off, in-process and final inspection of CNC-machined components
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, tolerances and specifications
- Use manual inspection equipment including micrometres, verniers and gauges
- Operate inspection equipment including CMMs
- Complete and maintain FAIR documentation and quality records
- Support PPAP requirements where required
- Work in line with AS9100 procedures and maintain high quality standards
- Identify and report any quality issues or non-conformances
Essential Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in mechanical or precision inspection within a manufacturing environment
- Confident reading engineering drawings and working to tight tolerances
- Competent using manual measuring equipment such as micrometres and gauges
- Basic measurement calculations and trigonometry
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong quality-focused approach
Desirable Experience
- Experience with CMM programming/operation , particularly Aberlink
- Knowledge of QMS systems and aerospace quality standards such as AS9100
- Experience completing FAIRs and/or supporting PPAP
Working Hours & Salary
Permanent position 39 hours per week MondayThursday: 7:00am4:00pm Friday: 7:00am12:00pm Some evening and weekend overtime may be available Salary up to £30,000 per year , depending on experience
