About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated Quality Systems Engineer to uphold and enhance their quality standards at their facility in Plymouth . This role is instrumental in developing, implementing, and maintaining robust quality management systems that ensure product consistency and compliance with industry regulations. You will work closely with production, engineering, and quality control teams to identify potential quality issues, implement corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Your expertise will be vital in maintaining the high standards expected by customers and regulators in the Plymouth region.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain the company's Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring compliance with relevant standards (e.g., ISO 9001).
- Conduct internal audits of processes and systems to identify non-conformities and areas for improvement.
- Investigate customer complaints and product quality issues, leading root cause analysis and implementing effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Develop and maintain quality documentation, including procedures, work instructions, and quality records.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to ensure that quality is built into new product introductions and process changes.
- Monitor and report on key quality performance indicators (KPIs) to management.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, Quality) or a related scientific field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in quality engineering or quality systems management.
- Strong knowledge of quality management principles and standards (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100).
- Experience with root cause analysis tools and CAPA methodologies.
- Proficiency in statistical process control (SPC) and data analysis.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
