About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled Quantitative Analyst , often referred to as a 'Quant', to join their innovative trading and risk management team in Manchester, Greater Manchester, UK . This role involves developing and implementing sophisticated mathematical models and algorithms for pricing, risk assessment, and trading strategies across various financial markets. You will collaborate with traders, portfolio managers, and technologists to enhance trading systems and improve quantitative methodologies. Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and test complex mathematical models and algorithms for financial applications.
- Implement quantitative strategies in a production environment using programming languages like Python, C++, or R.
- Conduct quantitative research to identify new trading opportunities and improve existing models.
- Analyze large datasets to extract meaningful insights and support decision-making.
- Collaborate with traders and portfolio managers to refine quantitative trading strategies.
- Ensure the accuracy and robustness of models and their implementation for regulatory compliance.
Requirements
- Advanced degree (MSc or PhD) in a quantitative field such as Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, Computer Science, or Financial Engineering.
- Proven experience as a Quantitative Analyst or in a similar quantitative role within the financial industry.
- Strong programming skills in Python, C++, R, or similar languages.
- Deep understanding of financial markets, derivatives, statistical modelling, and machine learning techniques.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and a rigorous, analytical mindset.
