Quantity Surveyor - Commercial Construction

About the Role

Our client requires a diligent and experienced Quantity Surveyor to manage commercial aspects of construction projects in Milton Keynes . This role is central to the financial success of projects, involving cost estimation, contract administration, and value management. You will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered within budget while maintaining high standards of quality and client satisfaction. Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates and bills of quantities for construction projects.
• Administer construction contracts, including managing variations, claims, and payments.
• Monitor project costs throughout the construction phase, providing regular financial reports to management.
• Undertake contract administration and ensure compliance with contractual terms.
• Negotiate with contractors and suppliers to achieve best value for money.
• Conduct feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses for proposed projects.

Requirements

• Degree or HND in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or a related discipline.
• Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the UK construction industry, with commercial project experience.
• Strong understanding of construction contracts (e.g., JCT, NEC) and procurement methods.
• Excellent analytical, negotiation, and financial management skills.
• Proficiency in cost management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
