About the Role
Our client is looking for a meticulous and analytical Quantity Surveyor to join their construction operations in Manchester . In this hybrid role, you will be responsible for managing all costs relating to construction projects, from initial estimates to final account settlement. Your expertise will be vital in ensuring projects remain financially viable and profitable. You will work closely with project managers, clients, and subcontractors, providing expert financial advice and robust cost control measures. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled QS to contribute to landmark projects while maintaining a balance between office-based strategic planning and on-site project oversight.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and submit bills of quantities , tenders, and cost estimates for construction projects.
- Manage the tendering process and evaluate contractor and subcontractor submissions.
- Monitor project costs, identify potential financial risks, and implement cost-saving measures.
- Negotiate variations and resolve contractual and commercial issues with clients and supply chains.
- Prepare monthly cost reports and final accounts for projects.
- Ensure compliance with contract terms and conditions throughout the project lifecycle.
Requirements
- Professional qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related field (e.g., RICS accredited).
- Demonstrable experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction sector.
- Strong understanding of contract law and commercial management in construction.
- Proficiency in cost estimation software and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet strict deadlines.
