Quantity Surveyor – Drylining Location: Saffron Walden, Essex Salary: £65,000 – £75,000 + package Type: Permanent

I am currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established specialist interiors contractor with an excellent reputation across the UK. The business delivers a range of specialist interior packages, with a particular focus on drylining, partitions, suspended ceilings and associated fit-out works.

They are looking to appoint an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their team and play a key role in managing the commercial aspects of projects from tender through to completion.

The company has a strong track record across sectors including commercial, education, healthcare and leisure, with projects ranging from major schools and universities through to leisure centres and large commercial developments.

The Role

As Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for the commercial management of projects, working closely with clients, main contractors, project teams and suppliers to ensure projects are delivered profitably and commercially successfully.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Managing the commercial aspects of projects from pre-construction through to final account

• Preparing and submitting valuations, variations and payment applications

• Managing subcontractors, procurement and costs

• Cost reporting and forecasting

• Preparing and agreeing final accounts

• Identifying commercial opportunities and risks

• Working closely with operational and site teams

• Maintaining strong relationships with clients and main contractors

About You

I am particularly interested in speaking with Quantity Surveyors who have a strong background in drylining, partitions or specialist interiors. Ideally, you will have experience working on projects within sectors such as:

• Commercial

• Education / Schools

• Universities

• Leisure Centres

• Healthcare

• General refurbishment / fit-out

A good understanding of drylining systems, partitions and associated interior packages is essential, along with previous experience working for a specialist subcontractor.
