Job Description
Quantity Surveyor – Maintenance
Bromsgrove / West Midlands
Maintenance, Voids & Planned/Reactive Works
Competitive Salary + Package
We are recruiting confidentially for an experienced Contract Quantity Surveyor to join an established contractor operating across the West Midlands.
This role requires somebody with a strong background in maintenance and refurbishment works, ideally gained within social housing, property maintenance, local authority or a similar environment.
Based from the company's Redditch office, you'll commercially manage a varied portfolio of maintenance projects and workstreams covering void properties, roofing works, general building works, repairs and associated maintenance programmes.
This isn't a role managing one large construction project. You'll need to be comfortable working within a fast-moving maintenance environment, commercially controlling multiple jobs of varying values and durations at any one time.
The Role
You'll work alongside the operational team to ensure contracts are commercially controlled, correctly valued and delivered profitably.
Your responsibilities will include:
*
Commercial management of maintenance contracts
*
Managing multiple live jobs and workstreams
*
Costing, measurement and valuations
*
Subcontractor procurement and management
*
Applications for payment
*
Variations and additional works
*
Cost/value reconciliation and reporting
*
Monitoring margins and contract performance
*
Final accounts
*
Supporting operational teams with commercial decisions
*
Liaising with clients, subcontractors and internal teams
The workload will typically include void refurbishments, roofing, general building repairs, maintenance works and associated property improvements.
What We're Looking For
We are specifically looking for somebody who understands the commercial demands of maintenance and small works contracting.
You could currently be working as a Quantity Surveyor, Contract Quantity Surveyor or Project Quantity Surveyor within social housing, maintenance, refurbishment, planned works, reactive maintenance or general building.
You'll need to be comfortable dealing with a high volume of work rather than simply commercially managing one major project.
Strong commercial awareness, subcontractor management skills and the ability to keep control of multiple projects simultaneously will be essential.
For somebody with the right maintenance background, this represents an excellent opportunity to join an established contractor with a strong regional workload.
