Quantity Surveyor / Senior Quantity Surveyor

Due to a strong pipeline of secured work, an established main contractor is looking to appoint both a Project Quantity Surveyor and a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join its commercial team in Glasgow. With several major projects due to commence over the coming months, this is an excellent opportunity to join a business with a healthy order book and long-term career prospects. The Opportunity The first project you'll be involved in is the refurbishment and repurposing of a newly constructed, previously unoccupied building in Glasgow, valued over £80 million. The project is due to commence at the beginning of October and has an anticipated programme of 24 months. Following this, you'll have the opportunity to work on a variety of high-profile projects across the Glasgow area. The Role Working as part of an experienced commercial team, you'll take responsibility for the financial management of projects from pre-construction through to final account. Key responsibilities include: Managing project costs and commercial performance Procurement and management of subcontractor packages Preparing valuations, applications for payment and variations Cost reporting and forecasting Managing change control and risk Producing and agreeing final accounts Working closely with operational teams to ensure successful project delivery Building strong relationships with clients, consultants and subcontractors What We're Looking For Experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor within a main contractor environment Proven track record delivering construction projects from inception through to completion Strong knowledge of commercial processes and contract administration Experience working under JCT contracts is advantageous Excellent communication and negotiation skills Degree qualified (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline What's on Offer Opportunity to work on a flagship £80m refurbishment project Long-term pipeline of projects across Glasgow Clear career progression within a growing commercial team Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package Supportive and collaborative working environment If you're a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor looking for your next opportunity on major construction projects in Glasgow, I'd be keen to have a confidential discussion.
