Site-Based Quantity Surveyor
Manchester
£40,000 - £55,000 DOE
An established and growing contractor is looking to recruit an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join its commercial team on a major long-term contract based in Manchester.
This is an urgent requirement, and the successful candidate will be joining a busy and well-established project team delivering a high volume of planned and reactive works.
The Role
Working closely with operational and commercial teams, you will be responsible for the commercial management of works delivered under a Schedule of Rates framework.
This is a site-based position and would suit an experienced Quantity Surveyor who is comfortable working within a fast-paced environment, managing multiple workstreams and maintaining strong relationships with both site and client teams.
Key responsibilities will include:
Managing costs across a high volume of planned and reactive works
Pricing, valuation and management of works under Schedule of Rates contracts
Reviewing and agreeing variations
Producing cost reports and forecasts
Managing subcontractor accounts
Supporting operational teams with commercial guidance
Preparing and negotiating final accounts
Building strong relationships with clients and stakeholdersRequirements
Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor
Essential: Schedule of Rates (SOR/NSR) experience
Experience within construction, refurbishment, maintenance or building fabric projects
Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Full UK Driving LicencePackage
