About the Role

Our client is seeking a meticulous and commercially astute Quantity Surveyor to join their established team in Leeds . This role is critical in managing the financial aspects of construction projects, ensuring cost-effectiveness and profitability. You will be responsible for cost estimation, contract administration, and managing all commercial matters from tender stage through to project completion. This is an excellent opportunity for a professional who enjoys detailed financial analysis and contract negotiation within the dynamic Yorkshire construction landscape, working closely with project teams on site.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate cost estimates and tender submissions for construction projects.
• Manage contract administration, including the preparation of contracts, subcontracts, and agreements.
• Monitor and control project costs throughout the construction lifecycle, identifying and mitigating financial risks.
• Valuation of variations, interim payments, and final accounts with clients and subcontractors.
• Procurement of subcontractors and suppliers, negotiating favourable terms.
• Provide commercial advice and support to project teams, ensuring financial targets are met.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction sector.
• Strong knowledge of contract law, forms of contract, and procurement routes.
• Proficiency in cost management, estimating, and financial reporting.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
• Degree or HND in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or a related field.
• Membership of professional bodies such as RICS is advantageous.
