Quantity Surveyor

About the Role

Our client requires a diligent and commercially astute Quantity Surveyor to manage costs and contracts for a range of exciting construction projects in Milton Keynes . This role is central to ensuring the financial success of projects, from initial estimates through to final account settlement. You will be responsible for managing all costs relating to building and civil engineering projects, seeking to minimize costs and maximise value whilst maintaining the required standards of quality and safety, contributing significantly to the company's profitability and reputation.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and submit bills of quantities , tenders, and quotations.
• Manage all costs relating to building projects, from initial calculations to final figures.
• Track project expenses and ensure they remain within budget.
• Negotiate with subcontractors and suppliers on costs and contracts.
• Prepare and submit monthly cost reports and final accounts.
• Advise on procurement strategies and contract administration.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction sector.
• Strong knowledge of construction contracts (e.g., JCT, NEC).
• Proficiency in cost estimating and financial management software.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
• Relevant degree or professional qualification in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management.
