Quantity Surveyor

About the Role

Our client is looking for a motivated Quantity Surveyor to join their team, supporting projects in and around Stoke-on-Trent . This role involves managing all commercial aspects of construction projects, from estimating and tendering through to final account settlement. You will work closely with project managers and site teams to ensure cost-effectiveness and profitability. This position offers a hybrid working arrangement, allowing for a balance between office-based tasks and on-site responsibilities, providing flexibility while ensuring essential site presence for effective cost management and stakeholder engagement.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate cost estimates and bills of quantities for construction projects.
• Manage tender processes, analyze bids, and negotiate contracts with suppliers and subcontractors.
• Monitor project costs, track expenses, and prepare regular financial reports.
• Administer contracts, manage variations, and resolve payment disputes.
• Ensure compliance with contract terms and conditions and manage project final accounts.
• Liaise with clients, project teams, and stakeholders on commercial matters.

Requirements

• Experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction sector.
• Good understanding of contract administration and cost control principles.
• Proficiency in relevant estimating and surveying software.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Relevant degree or professional qualification in Quantity Surveying or Construction.
