Quantity Surveyor – Data Centres / M&E
Location: Oldham
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
Type: Permanent
We are seeking a Project Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a specialist engineering and infrastructure business delivering major projects within the data centre and critical infrastructure sectors.
Ideally, you will have an M&E / building services background, although QS professionals from other construction disciplines will also be considered.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage the commercial and contractual aspects of projects.
* Manage cash flow, activity schedules, cost reports and CVRs.
* Prepare and manage upstream applications for payment.
* Manage downstream variations, valuations and subcontractor accounts.
* Monitor costs, margins, forecasts and commercial performance.
* Identify commercial risks and opportunities.
* Procure and manage subcontractors and suppliers.
* Manage variations, change control and final accounts.
* Work closely with Project Managers, clients, engineers and subcontractors.
About You
* Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor / Senior Quantity Surveyor.
* Ideally an M&E, mechanical, electrical or building services background.
* Strong commercial and contractual knowledge.
* Comfortable working in a fast-paced contracting environment.
* Strong experience with CVRs, cash flow, valuations and variations.
* Excellent communication, negotiation and analytical skills.
* NEC4 experience is desirable.
Experience within data centres, critical infrastructure or specialist M&E contracting would be advantageous, but is not essential.
