About the Role
Our client is seeking a meticulous and commercially astute Quantity Surveyor to join their team, contributing to significant construction projects in Coventry . This role involves managing all costs relating to construction projects, from initial calculations to final figures, ensuring that projects remain on budget while maintaining the required standards of quality and safety. You will be instrumental in providing financial advice to the project team, managing contracts, and identifying opportunities for cost savings. This is a key position that requires a strong understanding of construction economics and contract law.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, monitor, and control project budgets and costs throughout the construction lifecycle.
- Undertake cost analysis, providing accurate estimates for tendering and project variations.
- Manage and administer construction contracts, including variations, claims, and disputes.
- Procure and manage subcontractors, ensuring competitive pricing and contract compliance.
- Conduct site visits to monitor progress and verify valuations.
- Prepare monthly financial reports and forecasts for senior management.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction sector.
- A solid understanding of contract management, tendering processes, and cost control techniques.
- Proficiency in relevant surveying software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to manage client relationships effectively.
