Quantity Surveyor

Abatec is seeking a commercially astute and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor to join a leading contractor appointed as a Strategic Delivery Partner on Wessex Waters £3.7 billion AMP8 Delivery Framework. Covering Devon, Bournemouth and Bristol, this prestigious long-term programme has the potential to run until 2035. Our client designs and delivers the essential assets that enable Wessex Water to provide its services, including water recycling and treatment centres, pumping stations, reservoirs and associated infrastructure.

About the Role

As Quantity Surveyor, you will play a pivotal role in delivering major capital projects with values up to £30million.

Reporting to a Managing Quantity Surveyor, your responsibilities will include:

• Oversee the administration and management of contract payments across multiple live projects.

• Prepare accurate cost value reconciliations, forecasts, and reports, while managing change control and risk analysis.

• Ensure commercial activities are delivered in line with key financial reporting deadlines and project requirements.

• Present financial performance updates and commercial insights at regular management meetings.

• Liaise effectively with multidisciplinary teams including Project Managers, Engineers, Designers, and Estimators to support project success.

Our client requires a Quantity Surveyor with:

• Degree/HND/HNC qualification in Quantity Surveying

• Experience of working for a Civil Engineering contractor and knowledge of NEC contracts

• Membership of the RICS/ICES (desirable/not essential)

• Experience in managing change and risk, with a proven ability to negotiate tenders and final accounts.

• Excellent communication skills

Location: This role will be based in Bath but may require occasional visits to projects across the region.

Salary: Up to £60,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
