Quantity Surveyor

We are currently looking for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor or Quantity Surveyor to join the Transmission team, with the opportunity to work on a major £100m transmission line project between Galashiels and Kelso.

The Opportunity

The project is currently in its early design phase, providing an excellent opportunity to become involved from an early stage and develop your experience across a major infrastructure project.

The role will initially be primarily Bathgate-based, with site visits increasing as the project progresses. Longer term, the project is expected to develop into a significant site operation, with a dedicated site office of around 60 people anticipated within the next 2–3 years, alongside plans for a large yard and full site setup in Kelso.

As an Assistant QS or QS, you will have the opportunity to work within a major project environment, gaining valuable exposure to the commercial management of large-scale transmission infrastructure.

What We're Looking For

We are open to candidates with a broad Quantity Surveying background. Experience within energy, transmission or infrastructure would be beneficial, but candidates from other construction backgrounds are encouraged to apply where they can demonstrate strong transferable commercial experience.

NEC contract experience is beneficial but not essential, making this an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their knowledge within the energy and transmission sector.

We are particularly interested in candidates who can demonstrate:

Quantity Surveying experience within a construction or infrastructure environment Strong commercial, analytical and numerical skills Good attention to detail An understanding of cost control, budgeting and financial management Strong communication and stakeholder management skills A willingness to develop their experience within the Energy & Transmission sector NEC experience would be advantageous, but is not essential Why Consider This Opportunity?
