About the Role
Our client is looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor to join their dynamic team in Newcastle upon Tyne . This role is crucial for managing all costs relating to building and civil engineering projects, from initial calculations to final figures. You will be responsible for ensuring that projects are completed within budget while maintaining the highest standards of quality and contractual compliance. This hybrid position offers a blend of on-site and office-based work, allowing for flexibility while maintaining essential project oversight. You will play a key part in the financial success of our construction projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and submit bills of quantities , tenders, and cost estimates for projects.
- Manage and control project budgets, including cost forecasting and financial reporting.
- Administer contracts, including variations, claims, and dispute resolution.
- Conduct site visits to monitor progress and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
- Liaise with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project financial management.
- Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities throughout the project lifecycle.
Requirements
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry, with a strong understanding of contract law.
- Proficiency in cost management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
