RE (Religious Education) Teacher
RE Teacher – Derby (QTS Required)
Location: Derby
Contract Type: Full-Time / Part-Time
Start Date: Immediate / January 2027
Pay Rate: £130–£230 per day (dependent on experience and responsibilities)
Qualification: QTS required
Experience: Minimum 6 months’ teaching experience in a UK secondary school
Overview
Education Personnel are delighted to be working in partnership with a progressive and well-respected secondary school in Derby to recruit a dedicated RE Teacher for a position starting immediately or in January 2027. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled RE educator to contribute to a thriving department and support students at KS3, KS4, and potentially Religious Studies / Philosophy KS5. Derby schools place high value on cultural diversity, ethical reasoning, and inclusive student dialogue.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver the KS3 & KS4 RE curriculum, with KS5 teaching available if experienced in Derby
- Plan, prepare, and assess Religious Studies and Ethics lessons in line with department policy
- Monitor student progress and facilitate respectful classroom debate
- Contribute to RE department improvement planning and SMSC development
- Attend staff meetings, CPD, and parents’ evenings as required
The Ideal Candidate
- Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Has at least 6 months of classroom teaching RE experience in a UK secondary setting
- Is passionate about RE education and student achievement
- Has excellent behaviour management and communication skills
- Demonstrates a collaborative approach and willingness to contribute to school life
