Job Description
Recovery Worker Location: Margate Salary: £26,000 (pro-rata) Vacancy Type: Permanent, (Please be advised this position is 21 hours per week, however, the hours are negotiable)
The Role
As a Substance Misuse Practitioner, you will provide person-centred support to adults aged 18+ experiencing drug and/or alcohol-related issues. You will manage a caseload and deliver a range of harm reduction, abstinence-based and psychosocial interventions, including:
- Comprehensive assessments, risk management and SMART care plans.
- Structured 1:1 and group interventions.
- Motivational interviewing and harm reduction advice.
- Recovery-focused support and continuity of care.
- Partnership working with Housing, Employment, Healthcare, Probation and other services.
- Accurate recording and contribution to service outcomes and targets. Flexibility is required, including some evening/weekend work and occasional travel to other projects within the cluster.
About You
We’re looking for someone who is compassionate, non-judgemental and committed to supporting people affected by substance misuse. You will have:
- Experience working within substance misuse services.
- Experience completing assessments, risk management and care plans.
- Experience delivering structured interventions and facilitating groups.
- Experience using motivational interviewing techniques.
- Strong IT and communication skills.
- Knowledge of substance misuse, the Recovery Agenda and safeguarding.
- An understanding of holistic care and community services.
- A commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion.
