Recreation Coordinator

About the Role

Our client, a vibrant community hub in Reading , is seeking an enthusiastic and organised Recreation Coordinator . This role is pivotal in planning, promoting, and delivering a diverse range of recreational activities and programmes for the local community within the Leisure & Sports framework. You will engage with residents of all ages, fostering a sense of community and promoting healthy lifestyles through accessible and enjoyable activities. This position requires someone proactive, with excellent communication and event management skills, based in Berkshire , with a blend of on-site and remote working responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and promote a varied schedule of recreational programmes and events for diverse age groups.
• Coordinate with instructors, facilitators, and community groups to deliver high-quality activities.
• Manage bookings, registrations, and participant communications for all recreational offerings.
• Maintain records of program participation, feedback, and financial performance.
• Ensure all activities comply with health, safety, and safeguarding policies.
• Collaborate with marketing teams to promote programmes through various channels.
• Assist in the day-to-day operations of the centre as needed, providing administrative support.

Requirements

• Experience in programme coordination, event management, or a similar role, preferably within the leisure or community sector .
• Excellent organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse community members.
• Proficiency in using office software and experience with booking systems.
• A passion for community development and promoting healthy lifestyles through recreation .
• Relevant qualification in Leisure Studies, Community Development, or a related field is an advantage.
