About the Role
Our client is seeking a creative and organised Recreation Programme Coordinator to manage and deliver a diverse range of recreational activities and events in Edinburgh . This role involves designing engaging programmes for various age groups and interests, coordinating facility bookings, managing instructors, and ensuring the smooth operation of recreational services. Key Responsibilities
- Develop, plan, and coordinate a schedule of recreational programmes and events.
- Source and manage contracts with instructors, facilitators, and external providers.
- Promote programmes through various channels, including social media, local press, and community outreach.
- Manage budgets for recreational activities, ensuring cost-effectiveness and value for money.
- Liaise with community groups, schools, and other organisations to identify needs and opportunities.
- Ensure all programmes comply with health, safety, and child protection policies.
Requirements
- Experience in programme coordination, event management, or a related field, preferably within the community or leisure sector.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite and experience with scheduling software.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and initiative.
- Relevant qualification in recreation, sports management, or a related discipline is advantageous.
