Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Engineer
Covering: Swindon, Reading, Gloucester & Bristol Package Salary up to £45,000, depending on experience 40 hours per week Door-to-door travel paid 33 days annual leave, including bank holidays 1 in 5 on-call rota Company van provided Ongoing training and development Company mobile phone or tablet The Opportunity An established building services business is looking for an experienced Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Service Engineer to join its team and cover a regional patch across the South West. The business has a long-standing reputation within the commercial building services sector, particularly across refrigeration and catering environments. This is a great opportunity for an engineer who takes pride in their work, enjoys dealing directly with customers and is looking for a secure position within an established organisation. The Role You will be responsible for the service, maintenance and repair of a range of commercial refrigeration and air conditioning equipment, including:
Commercial cold rooms Ice machines Bottle coolers Display refrigeration VRV/VRF systems Split AC systems Your responsibilities will include:
Carrying out planned servicing, maintenance and reactive repairs Diagnosing faults and carrying out effective repairs Providing a professional service to customers and maintaining strong client relationships Ensuring all work is completed in accordance with health & safety requirements and company procedures Responding to breakdowns as part of the on-call rota Recording completed work and job details using a company-issued device Attending the depot occasionally to collect parts, restock the vehicle or handle equipment Maintaining a high standard of workmanship across all jobs Working Hours & Travel 40-hour working week Typical hours are 8:00am – 5:00pm, including a 1-hour break Travel time is paid door-to-door, from home to the job and back On-Call The on-call requirement is:
1 weekday per week 1 full weekend in every 5 weeks What You'll Need Essential:
Practical experience servicing and maintaining commercial refrigeration and/or air conditioning systems NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning, or an equivalent qualification F-Gas Category 1 Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills Full UK driving licence Good communication skills and a customer-focused attitude Desirable but not essential:
Experience within commercial environments such as retail or hospitality Manufacturer-specific training or additional industry qualifications Electrical qualifications What's on Offer? Alongside a salary of up to £45,000, you'll receive:
