Location: Swadlincote (DE11 9DL)

Pay Rates: £14.59 per hour Monday to Friday

• 06:00 - 14:00 shift pattern
• Overtime after 8 hours: £21.89 per hour
• Saturday rate: £21.89 per hour
• Bank Holiday rate: £43.77 per hour
• Minimum 7.5 hours guaranteed pay per shift
• Ongoing, long-term work

Refuse Collector - HGV Class 2 Driver Job Overview

We are currently recruiting experienced Refuse Collector - HGV Class 2 for a well-established waste management and recycling operation in Swadlincote . This is an excellent opportunity for reliable Refuse Collector - HGV Class 2 seeking regular Monday to Friday work with excellent overtime opportunities.

As a Refuse Collector - HGV Class 2 , you will be responsible for operating a Class 2 refuse collection vehicle on designated collection routes while working alongside refuse collectors and loaders to provide an essential waste and recycling service.

Key Responsibilities of a Refuse Collector - HGV Class 2:

• Safely operate an Refuse Collector - HGV Class 2
• Complete scheduled waste and recycling collection routes
• Work closely with loaders and refuse operatives throughout the shift
• Conduct daily vehicle safety checks and defect reporting
• Follow route plans and collection schedules efficiently
• Maintain a safe working environment for colleagues and members of the public
• Complete all required paperwork and route documentation
• Liaise with transport supervisors and operations teams
• Ensure compliance with Driver CPC , tachograph regulations, and Working Time Directive requirements
• Deliver high standards of customer service within residential and commercial areas

Requirements of a Refuse Collector - HGV Class 2:

• Valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) Licence
• Valid Driver CPC Qualification Card
• Digital Tachograph Card
• Good understanding of driver hours and working time regulations
• Previous experience as a Class 2 Driver , Refuse Driver , Dustcart Driver , RCV Driver , or Waste Collection Driver is desirable
• Good communication skills and a positive attitude
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
