Regional Transport Manager

About the Role

Our client is seeking a strategic and experienced Regional Transport Manager to oversee and optimize transport operations across multiple sites in the Reading area and surrounding regions. This hybrid role demands a blend of on-site leadership and strategic planning, focusing on enhancing efficiency, ensuring regulatory compliance, and managing a complex network of vehicles and drivers. You will be instrumental in driving improvements in service delivery, cost management, and safety standards across the region, contributing significantly to the company's overall logistical excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement regional transport strategies to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
• Manage and lead a team of transport supervisors and planners across various locations.
• Ensure compliance with all national and international transport regulations and legislation.
• Oversee fleet maintenance, performance, and utilisation to maximise operational uptime.
• Analyse transport data to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
• Foster strong relationships with internal departments and external logistics partners.

Requirements

• Extensive experience in a senior transport or logistics management role, preferably with multi-site responsibility.
• Strong understanding of transport regulations, fleet management, and supply chain operations.
• Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate diverse teams.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
• Proficiency in transport management software and data analysis tools.
• Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is preferred.
