Key Responsibilities
- Collect, clean, and process large datasets from various agricultural sources, including IoT devices, sensors, and farm management software.
- Develop and implement statistical models and machine learning algorithms to analyse agricultural data for insights into crop performance, soil health, and livestock productivity.
- Create clear and concise reports, dashboards, and visualizations to communicate findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Identify trends, patterns, and anomalies in data that can inform decision-making for farm operations and strategic planning.
- Collaborate with agronomists, farm managers, and engineers to understand data needs and provide data-driven solutions.
- Stay current with advancements in agricultural technology, data science, and analytics tools.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Agricultural Science with a strong data focus, or a related quantitative field.
- Proven experience (3+ years) in data analysis, with a strong portfolio demonstrating proficiency in statistical modelling and data visualization.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R, and experience with SQL for database querying.
- Familiarity with big data technologies and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to a diverse audience.
