About the Role

Our client is looking for a creative and technically adept Remote AI Research Engineer to join their cutting-edge research division, operating fully remotely but affiliated with their Sheffield base. You will focus on developing and experimenting with novel AI algorithms and machine learning models to solve challenging problems. This role requires a strong theoretical foundation combined with practical implementation skills, enabling you to bridge the gap between research concepts and deployable solutions. You will collaborate with a team of world-class researchers and engineers in a dynamic, remote-first research environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct research into advanced AI algorithms, machine learning techniques, and deep learning architectures.
• Implement and prototype new AI models and algorithms using relevant programming languages and frameworks.
• Design and execute experiments to evaluate the performance and efficacy of research ideas.
• Analyze experimental results and contribute to research papers and internal technical reports.

Requirements

• Ph.D. or Master's degree in Computer Science, AI, Machine Learning, or a related field.
• Proven research experience in AI/ML, demonstrated through publications or significant project contributions.
• Strong programming skills in Python, with proficiency in ML libraries like TensorFlow, PyTorch, or JAX.
• Solid understanding of machine learning theory, deep learning, and statistical modeling.
