Remote Automotive Cybersecurity Specialist

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and proactive Remote Automotive Cybersecurity Specialist to safeguard their connected vehicle technologies. In this critical, fully remote role, you will be responsible for identifying, assessing, and mitigating cybersecurity risks across the entire vehicle lifecycle, from design and development to in-field operations. Your expertise will be essential in protecting sensitive vehicle data and ensuring the safety and security of drivers and passengers in an increasingly connected world.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct security risk assessments and threat modeling for automotive systems and software.
• Develop and implement cybersecurity strategies, policies, and procedures for connected vehicles.
• Monitor networks and systems for security breaches and malicious activities.
• Perform penetration testing and vulnerability assessments on automotive electronic control units (ECUs) and communication interfaces.
• Respond to and manage security incidents, coordinating incident response activities.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate security best practices into the design and development process.
• Stay informed about emerging cybersecurity threats and automotive security standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in cybersecurity, with a strong emphasis on embedded systems or the automotive industry .
• In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity principles, protocols, and best practices.
• Experience with cryptographic techniques, secure coding, and intrusion detection systems.
• Familiarity with automotive communication protocols (e.g., CAN, Ethernet) and security standards (e.g., ISO 21434).
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently in a remote setting.
• Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CEH, or similar are a plus.
