About the Role
Our client is looking for a visionary Remote Automotive Software Architect to define and drive the software strategy for their next-generation connected vehicles. You will be responsible for designing robust, scalable, and secure software systems that integrate seamlessly with vehicle hardware and cloud platforms. This role requires a deep understanding of automotive software standards, modern software engineering practices, and the ability to architect complex, distributed systems. As a key technical leader, you will shape the future of automotive software, working from the comfort of your home office and collaborating with a global team.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and document the overall software architecture for automotive embedded systems, including operating systems, middleware, and applications.
- Establish software design principles, patterns, and best practices for the development team.
- Evaluate and select appropriate technologies, tools, and frameworks for automotive software development.
- Collaborate with hardware engineers and system architects to ensure the feasibility and performance of the software architecture.
- Oversee the software development lifecycle, providing technical guidance and ensuring adherence to quality standards.
- Contribute to the development of security strategies and ensure compliance with automotive cybersecurity standards.
Requirements
- Master's degree or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in software development, with at least 5 years in an automotive software architecture role.
- Proven experience designing complex embedded systems for automotive applications (e.g., infotainment, ADAS, powertrain control).
- Expertise in real-time operating systems (RTOS), AUTOSAR, and automotive communication protocols (CAN, Ethernet).
- Strong knowledge of software security principles and best practices for embedded systems.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts clearly in a remote setting .
