About the Role

Our client is looking for a talented Remote Automotive Software Developer to contribute to the development of innovative in-car infotainment and connectivity systems. Working from home, you will collaborate with a distributed team of engineers to design, code, and test software solutions that enhance the driver and passenger experience. This role demands a strong background in software development, coupled with an interest in the evolving automotive technology landscape. You will be instrumental in shaping the future of automotive HMI and connected services, operating in a flexible, remote-first environment, ideally based near Stoke-on-Trent but open to candidates across the UK.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and implement robust software modules for automotive infotainment systems.
Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code in languages such as C++, Python, or Java.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineers and UI/UX designers, to integrate software solutions.
Perform unit testing, integration testing, and debugging to ensure software quality and performance.
Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in automotive software development and contribute to architectural discussions.

Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
3+ years of professional software development experience, preferably within the automotive sector.
Proficiency in object-oriented programming and software design patterns.
Experience with embedded systems, real-time operating systems (RTOS), or automotive communication protocols (e.g., CAN, Ethernet).
Strong analytical skills and a passion for developing high-quality software for complex systems.
