About the Role
Our client is seeking a talented Remote Automotive Software Engineer to contribute to the development of next-generation vehicle software. You will be an integral part of a dynamic, remote-first engineering team, focusing on designing, implementing, and testing embedded software for automotive control units and infotainment systems. This role demands a deep understanding of software development principles within the automotive context, including real-time operating systems and communication protocols. You will work on challenging projects that shape the future of driving, from advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) to connected car features, all within a collaborative and innovative work environment that champions remote collaboration and individual growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain embedded software for automotive applications using C/C++.
- Implement and optimize software for real-time operating systems (RTOS) and automotive communication protocols (e.g., CAN, LIN, Ethernet).
- Develop and execute unit tests, integration tests, and system tests to ensure software quality and reliability.
- Collaborate with hardware engineers and systems architects to define software requirements and architecture.
- Debug complex software issues and participate in code reviews to maintain high coding standards.
- Contribute to the continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipeline for automotive software development.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of professional experience in embedded software development, preferably in the automotive industry.
- Strong proficiency in C/C++ programming languages and experience with RTOS.
- Familiarity with automotive communication protocols such as CAN, LIN, and Automotive Ethernet.
- Experience with software development tools, version control systems (e.g., Git), and debugging tools.
