Remote Buyer - MRO Supplies

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and proactive Remote Buyer to manage the procurement of Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) supplies. This fully remote position requires a dedicated individual who can efficiently source, purchase, and manage a wide range of MRO items critical to maintaining operational continuity. You will be responsible for identifying reliable suppliers, negotiating favourable terms, and ensuring timely delivery of goods to various company sites. The ideal candidate will possess strong organisational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a keen eye for detail to manage inventory effectively and control costs within this essential procurement function.

Key Responsibilities

• Source and procure a diverse range of MRO supplies, ensuring competitive pricing and quality.
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with key MRO suppliers, negotiating contracts and service level agreements.
• Manage the entire purchasing process, from requisition generation to order fulfillment and delivery tracking.
• Monitor MRO inventory levels and collaborate with relevant teams to ensure adequate stock availability.
• Analyse spend data to identify opportunities for cost savings and process efficiencies.
• Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and ethical sourcing practices.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Buyer or Procurement Specialist, with specific experience in MRO procurement.
• Strong negotiation skills and a demonstrated ability to secure favourable terms with suppliers.
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail, particularly in managing multiple orders and suppliers.
• Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems; experience with inventory management systems is a plus.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, suitable for a remote working environment.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement in procurement processes.
