About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Remote Chemical Engineer focused on Environmental Compliance to join their progressive team. This is a fully remote position, offering significant flexibility. You will be instrumental in ensuring that all chemical processes and operations meet stringent environmental regulations and sustainability goals. Your expertise will guide the development and implementation of environmentally sound practices, waste reduction strategies, and pollution control measures across the organization, working with a global team to drive sustainable chemical manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement environmental management systems and policies aligned with regulatory requirements.
- Monitor and assess emissions, effluents, and waste streams to ensure compliance with permits and standards.
- Design and optimize processes to minimize environmental impact, including waste reduction and resource efficiency.
- Conduct environmental impact assessments for new projects and process modifications.
- Stay abreast of evolving environmental legislation and advise the company on compliance strategies.
- Collaborate with operational teams to implement best practices for pollution prevention and control.
Requirements
- Degree in Chemical Engineering , Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience (4+ years) in environmental compliance, sustainability, or process engineering within a chemical or industrial setting.
- Strong understanding of environmental regulations (e.g., REACH, COMAH, environmental permitting).
- Experience with environmental monitoring techniques, waste management, and pollution control technologies.
- Proficiency in environmental impact assessment and life cycle assessment (LCA) methodologies.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to work autonomously remotely.
