Our client is seeking a highly experienced and self-motivated Remote Chemical Process Design Engineer to join their distributed team, based anywhere within the UK. This role is critical for conceptualizing and developing innovative process designs for a variety of chemical projects, ensuring they are efficient, safe, and economically viable. You will work independently, collaborating with global teams through virtual platforms, contributing to cutting-edge projects from inception to detailed design. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the conceptual and detailed design of chemical processes, from feasibility studies to final design packages.
• Develop process flow diagrams (PFDs), heat and material balances, and equipment specifications.
• Perform process simulations and analyse results to optimize designs for performance and cost-effectiveness.
• Ensure designs comply with all relevant safety standards, environmental regulations, and client requirements.
• Collaborate effectively with remote project teams, including project managers, equipment suppliers, and clients.
• Provide technical support during the procurement, construction, and commissioning phases, primarily through virtual means.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering .
• Extensive experience (10+ years) in chemical process design , with a strong portfolio of successfully delivered projects.
• Advanced proficiency in process simulation software (e.g., Aspen Plus, CHEMCAD) and 3D design tools.
• Deep understanding of fundamental chemical engineering principles and various unit operations.
• Proven ability to manage design projects remotely and work autonomously.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective virtual collaboration.
