About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled Chemical Process Development Engineer to join their fully remote workforce. This position is focused on designing, optimizing, and scaling up chemical processes for new product introductions and existing product enhancements, all managed from a remote location. You will collaborate virtually with global teams, leveraging your expertise in process design, simulation, and experimentation to drive innovation. This is an ideal role for a motivated engineer who excels in an independent, remote work environment and is passionate about advancing chemical process technology.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and optimization of chemical processes for new product launches and existing product improvements, working remotely.
- Conduct process design, scale-up studies, and pilot plant trials (where applicable, possibly involving site visits coordinated remotely).
- Utilize process simulation software to model, analyze, and optimize process parameters for efficiency, safety, and cost-effectiveness.
- Troubleshoot process issues and implement solutions through remote collaboration and data analysis.
- Develop comprehensive process documentation, including PFDs, P&IDs, and operating procedures, all managed virtually.
- Collaborate effectively with R&D, manufacturing, and quality assurance teams through digital platforms to ensure seamless technology transfer.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in chemical process development, scale-up, or optimization.
- Proven ability to work effectively and autonomously in a remote setting.
- Strong proficiency in process simulation and modeling software (e.g., Aspen Plus).
- Solid understanding of chemical reaction engineering, separation processes, and process safety.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and virtual collaboration skills.
