Remote Chemical Process Development Scientist

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Remote Chemical Process Development Scientist to join their innovative research and development team. This position is fully remote, offering the flexibility to work from home across the UK, and focuses on the development and optimization of novel chemical processes. You will be instrumental in translating laboratory discoveries into scalable, efficient, and sustainable manufacturing solutions. This is an excellent opportunity for a scientist or engineer with a strong background in process development to contribute significantly to cutting-edge projects from a remote setting, supporting advancements originating from their Norwich -based R&D hub.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and execute laboratory-scale experiments to develop and optimize chemical synthesis routes and purification methods.
• Scale-up processes from laboratory to pilot plant, ensuring reproducibility, safety, and efficiency.
• Analyze experimental data using statistical methods and interpret results to drive process improvements.
• Collaborate closely with R&D chemists, project managers, and manufacturing teams to ensure successful technology transfer.
• Develop process documentation, including experimental plans, reports, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Identify and evaluate new technologies and methodologies to enhance process development capabilities.

Requirements

• A Master's or Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering , Chemistry, or a related scientific field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in chemical process development, scale-up, and optimization.
• Proven experience with laboratory techniques, analytical instrumentation, and pilot plant operations.
• Strong understanding of chemical kinetics, thermodynamics, and separation principles.
• Excellent data analysis, problem-solving, and scientific communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote team environment.
