About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Remote Chemical Process Engineer with a specialization in Petrochemicals to join their global engineering team. This role is fully remote, offering flexibility to work from anywhere. You will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and optimizing complex petrochemical processes, ensuring safety, efficiency, and environmental sustainability. This position requires a deep understanding of hydrocarbon processing, catalysis, and separation technologies, contributing to the development of innovative solutions for the energy sector, and requires excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively within a distributed team environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and optimize processes for the production of various petrochemicals, including olefins, aromatics, and polymers.
- Conduct detailed process simulations, feasibility studies, and economic evaluations for new projects and plant upgrades.
- Develop and review Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), and PSSRs.
- Ensure processes meet stringent safety, environmental, and quality standards, including adherence to industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Provide technical expertise and support for process troubleshooting and debottlenecking initiatives.
- Collaborate closely with international teams, including operations, project management, and research, using digital collaboration tools.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering .
- Significant experience (5+ years) in process engineering within the petrochemical or oil and gas industry.
- Expertise in petrochemical processes such as steam cracking, catalytic reforming, and polymerization.
- Proficiency in process simulation software (e.g., Aspen HYSYS, Pro/II) and strong data analysis skills.
- Thorough understanding of process safety management (PSM) principles and hazardous area classifications.
- Excellent remote communication, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities.
