About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and self-motivated Remote Chemical Process Engineer to join their globally distributed engineering team, focusing on operations in Manchester . This position is fully remote, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere within the UK. You will be responsible for the continuous improvement and optimization of existing chemical manufacturing processes, ensuring operational efficiency, safety, and environmental compliance. This role requires strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of chemical engineering principles, and the ability to collaborate effectively with teams across different locations and time zones.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze process performance data to identify opportunities for optimization and efficiency gains.
- Develop and implement process improvements, including modifications to equipment, control strategies, and operating procedures.
- Conduct root cause analysis for process deviations and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Ensure all process activities adhere to the highest standards of safety, health, and environmental (SHE) regulations.
- Collaborate closely with plant operations, maintenance, and R&D teams, providing remote technical support and expertise.
- Prepare technical reports, feasibility studies, and recommendations for capital investment projects related to process upgrades.
Requirements
- BEng or MEng in Chemical Engineering or a closely related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a process engineering role within the chemical or petrochemical industry.
- Demonstrated experience with process control systems (DCS/PLC) and data analysis software.
- Strong understanding of statistical process control (SPC) and quality management principles.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote, cross-functional team.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously in a remote setting.
