Remote Civil Design Engineer - Transportation

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop highway alignments, junction layouts, and related road infrastructure elements.
• Prepare technical drawings, reports, and specifications for transportation projects using industry-standard software.
• Conduct drainage design, traffic management considerations, and utility coordination for transport schemes.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant national design standards, DMRB, and safety regulations.
• Collaborate with project managers, planning consultants, and other stakeholders through virtual communication channels.
• Undertake site appraisals and surveys, either remotely using data or by coordinating local site visits when necessary.

Requirements

• Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in the design of transportation infrastructure projects.
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D) and relevant design software for highway and drainage design.
• Strong understanding of the design principles for roads, railways, or other transport modes.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills suited for remote work.
• Demonstrated ability to manage project tasks and deadlines independently.
