About the Role
Our client is seeking a vigilant and technically proficient Remote Control Room Operator to join their distributed operations team, working remotely. This role is critical for monitoring and controlling energy generation assets and distribution networks in real-time. You will be responsible for ensuring operational stability, responding to alerts, and initiating necessary actions to maintain service continuity and safety, all from a remote location. This position demands a high degree of concentration, technical aptitude, and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure, contributing to the reliable delivery of energy across the region.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor energy generation and distribution systems remotely using sophisticated SCADA and control software.
- Respond promptly and effectively to alarms, deviations, and emergency situations.
- Operate equipment and systems remotely to optimise performance and ensure grid stability.
- Communicate effectively with field operations teams, management, and other stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate logs of operational activities, incidents, and resolutions.
- Adhere strictly to all operational procedures, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements .
Requirements
- Experience in a control room environment, ideally within the energy sector or a related utility field.
- Proficiency with SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems and network monitoring tools.
- Strong technical aptitude and understanding of energy infrastructure operations.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm and decisive under pressure.
- Ability to work independently and maintain focus in a remote setting.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
