About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly motivated and independent Remote Courier Driver to join their expanding delivery network, operating remotely from the Sunderland region. This role focuses on the timely and secure delivery of packages and documents to a variety of business and residential addresses. While managing your own schedule and routes from a remote base, you will be a key representative of the company, ensuring customer satisfaction through prompt and professional service. This position is ideal for an experienced driver who values autonomy, efficiency, and direct impact on the success of the logistics operations in Tyne and Wear.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and execute daily delivery schedules efficiently, prioritizing routes for maximum productivity and customer satisfaction.
- Operate a company-provided vehicle safely and responsibly, adhering to all traffic laws and company safety protocols.
- Handle packages with care, ensuring proper loading, securing, and unloading to prevent damage or loss.
- Maintain accurate records of all deliveries, including proof of delivery via a digital device or handheld scanner.
- Communicate effectively with the central dispatch team regarding route status, any issues encountered, and completion of deliveries.
- Conduct regular vehicle checks, reporting any maintenance concerns or defects to the fleet management team promptly.
Requirements
- Valid UK Driving Licence with a clean driving history.
- Previous experience as a courier, delivery driver, or in a similar transport role.
- Familiarity with navigation tools and the ability to plan efficient routes.
- Strong time management skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Must possess a suitable home working environment conducive to remote coordination and communication.
