Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and deploy machine learning models for mineral prospectivity mapping and resource estimation.
- Analyze large, complex datasets from geological surveys, drilling logs, and sensor data to identify trends and anomalies.
- Design and build data pipelines for efficient data ingestion, cleaning, and transformation.
- Collaborate with geologists, engineers, and business stakeholders to define analytical requirements and deliver actionable insights.
- Develop dashboards and visualizations to communicate findings effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Stay abreast of the latest advancements in data science, machine learning, and their applications in the mining sector.
Requirements
- Ph.D. or Master's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field.
- 5+ years of professional experience in data science, with a proven track record in building and deploying ML models.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R, and relevant libraries (e.g., scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
- Strong experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, and big data technologies (e.g., Spark).
- Excellent data visualization skills using tools like Tableau, Power BI, or Python libraries.
- Experience working with geospatial data and geological datasets is highly desirable.
