Remote Data Scientist - Mining Analytics

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and deploy machine learning models for predictive maintenance, ore grade forecasting, and operational efficiency improvements.
• Analyze large and complex datasets from various sources, including geological surveys, production logs, and sensor data.
• Design and build interactive dashboards and visualizations to communicate key findings to stakeholders.
• Collaborate with geologists, engineers, and operations managers to identify business needs and data-driven solutions.
• Conduct statistical analysis and hypothesis testing to support strategic initiatives.
• Ensure data quality, integrity, and governance across all analytical projects.

Requirements

• Master's degree or PhD in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience as a Data Scientist, with experience in the mining or resources sector being a strong advantage.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R, and experience with relevant libraries (e.g., Pandas, Scikit-learn, TensorFlow).
• Strong experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, and big data technologies (e.g., Spark, Hadoop).
• Excellent understanding of statistical modeling, machine learning algorithms, and data mining techniques.
• Strong communication and presentation skills, capable of explaining complex results to diverse audiences.
