About the Role
Our client is seeking a dynamic and organised Remote Delivery Driver Coordinator to manage and optimise their fleet operations from a distance. In this crucial role, you will be the central point of contact, ensuring efficient dispatch, route planning, and driver support across various operational areas. You will leverage technology to monitor driver performance, track deliveries in real-time, and proactively address any challenges that arise, contributing to seamless logistical operations and exceptional customer service without needing to be physically present at a depot. Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and schedule daily delivery routes for a fleet of drivers, ensuring optimal efficiency and timely deliveries.
- Monitor driver activities and delivery progress using real-time tracking software, providing timely updates to stakeholders.
- Act as the primary point of contact for drivers, addressing operational queries, providing support, and resolving issues remotely.
- Analyse delivery data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement in routing and logistics.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, driver performance, and operational costs.
- Collaborate with customer service teams to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction regarding deliveries.
Requirements
- Proven experience in logistics, dispatch, or fleet management, preferably in a supervisory capacity.
- Proficiency with route optimisation software and GPS tracking systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage a team remotely.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to make quick, effective decisions under pressure.
- Familiarity with the challenges of managing drivers and deliveries in a UK context.
- Ability to work autonomously and manage time effectively in a remote working environment.
