About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Remote Delivery Route Planner to join their expanding logistics operations. This is a fully remote position, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere in the UK, with a primary focus on optimising delivery routes for our fleet serving the Newcastle upon Tyne area and beyond. You will leverage cutting-edge software and your logistical expertise to create the most efficient and cost-effective routes, ensuring customer satisfaction through timely deliveries. This role is crucial for enhancing operational efficiency and reducing transit times, directly impacting our client's success and sustainability goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Utilise route optimisation software to design efficient daily delivery schedules for drivers serving the Tyne and Wear region.
• Analyse delivery data, traffic patterns, and customer locations to identify areas for route improvement and cost savings.
• Communicate updated route plans and any necessary adjustments to drivers via digital platforms.
• Monitor driver progress in real-time and provide support to resolve logistical challenges that arise during the day.
• Collaborate with the dispatch and operations teams to ensure seamless integration of route plans with overall delivery schedules.
• Continuously research and recommend new technologies or strategies to enhance route planning effectiveness.

Requirements

• Proven experience in logistics, dispatch, or route planning, ideally within a delivery or transport environment.
• Proficiency with route optimisation software and mapping tools (e.g., Google Maps, specialised logistics software).
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
• Strong ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote working setting.
• Effective communication skills to liaise with drivers and internal teams.
• Familiarity with the geographical areas we serve, including Newcastle upon Tyne , is advantageous.
