Our client is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Remote Diagnostic Engineer to join their innovative automotive technology team, based remotely across the UK . Key Responsibilities
- Develop, test, and validate sophisticated diagnostic software and algorithms for automotive control units.
- Analyze vehicle data logs and diagnostic trouble codes to identify root causes of complex technical issues.
- Collaborate with hardware and software development teams to integrate and optimize diagnostic capabilities.
- Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including user manuals and troubleshooting guides for diagnostic tools.
- Provide remote technical support to internal teams and external partners, resolving escalated issues efficiently.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of diagnostic methodologies and the adoption of new technologies within the engineering department.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Automotive Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Proven experience in automotive diagnostics, with a strong understanding of vehicle communication protocols (e.g., CAN, UDS, J1939).
- Proficiency in programming languages such as C/C++, Python, or similar, for diagnostic tool development and scripting.
- Experience with diagnostic hardware and software tools, including oscilloscopes and logic analyzers.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and manage tasks effectively in a remote environment.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
