About the Role
Our client is seeking a talented and experienced Remote Drone Software Developer to join their pioneering team. This is a fully remote position, allowing you to contribute to cutting-edge drone technology from anywhere. You will be instrumental in developing sophisticated software for autonomous flight control, navigation, and data processing for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). This role requires a deep understanding of software engineering principles, a passion for robotics, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a virtual environment. Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain robust software for drone flight control systems, including path planning and obstacle avoidance algorithms.
- Implement and optimize algorithms for real-time data acquisition, processing, and analysis from drone sensors.
- Develop APIs and SDKs to enable seamless integration with drone hardware and third-party applications.
- Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code using languages such as C++, Python, and relevant frameworks (e.g., ROS).
- Collaborate remotely with hardware engineers, robotics specialists, and other software developers through virtual communication tools.
- Contribute to the entire software development lifecycle, including testing, debugging, deployment, and maintenance of drone software.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in software development, with a focus on robotics, autonomous systems, or UAVs.
- Strong proficiency in C++ and Python, with experience in relevant libraries and frameworks (e.g., OpenCV, PCL, ROS).
- Familiarity with real-time operating systems, embedded systems, and software for resource-constrained environments.
- Experience with computer vision, machine learning, or AI algorithms applied to robotics is a plus.
- Excellent remote collaboration skills, self-motivation, and the ability to manage time effectively in a distributed team setting.
