About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled Remote Electrical Controls Engineer to join their innovative team. This position is fully remote, supporting projects that have a connection to their Liverpool, Merseyside, UK operations. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and troubleshooting electrical control systems for automated machinery and processes. This role requires a proactive approach, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively in a distributed team environment. You will play a crucial role in enhancing the efficiency and capabilities of our client's automated solutions, contributing to significant advancements in their technological offerings, all while maintaining the flexibility of remote work.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop electrical control panels and schematics for industrial automation systems.
- Program and commission PLCs (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens), HMIs, and industrial networks.
- Implement safety circuits and ensure compliance with machinery safety standards (e.g., ISO 13849).
- Conduct remote diagnostics and troubleshooting of electrical control system issues.
- Specify and select electrical components, sensors, and actuators.
- Collaborate with software engineers and mechanical designers to integrate control solutions.
Requirements
- Degree in Electrical Engineering , Mechatronics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in designing and implementing industrial electrical control systems.
- Proficiency in PLC programming and HMI development environments.
- Strong understanding of industrial automation principles and best practices.
- Experience with network protocols such as Ethernet/IP, Profinet, or Modbus.
