Remote Electrical Design Engineer - Control Systems

About the Role

Our client is seeking a talented and detail-oriented Remote Electrical Design Engineer specializing in Control Systems to join their innovative, fully remote engineering department. You will be responsible for designing and implementing robust electrical control systems for a variety of industrial and automation projects. This role requires a strong understanding of PLC programming, HMI design, and industrial networking. Working remotely, you will collaborate closely with clients and internal teams to deliver efficient and reliable automation solutions. Key Responsibilities

• Design electrical schematics and control panel layouts for automated machinery and industrial processes.
• Select appropriate PLCs, HMIs, sensors, and actuators for system requirements.
• Develop and debug PLC code (e.g., Ladder Logic, Structured Text) and HMI configurations.
• Specify and integrate industrial communication protocols such as Modbus, Profinet, and Ethernet/IP.
• Collaborate with software engineers and mechanical designers to ensure system functionality and integration.
• Provide remote technical support and troubleshooting for commissioned control systems.

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical field.
• Minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience in electrical control systems design and automation.
• Proficiency in programming and configuring major PLC platforms (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Mitsubishi).
• Experience with HMI/SCADA software development (e.g., FactoryTalk View, WinCC).
• Knowledge of industrial networking standards and best practices.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and excellent remote communication skills.
