Remote Electrical Design Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a talented Electrical Design Engineer to join their fully remote engineering team. This position is crucial for developing innovative electrical system designs for a variety of projects, with a focus on renewable energy and energy storage solutions. You will be responsible for creating detailed electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, and specifications, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client requirements. Working entirely from home, you will collaborate closely with project managers, system integrators, and clients to deliver high-quality, reliable electrical designs that support the transition to a sustainable energy future.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop electrical systems, including schematic diagrams , single-line diagrams, and wiring schedules.
• Select appropriate electrical components, equipment, and switchgear based on project requirements and specifications.
• Ensure all designs comply with relevant electrical codes, standards (e.g., BS 7671), and safety regulations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate electrical designs with mechanical, control, and civil engineering aspects.
• Perform power system calculations , including load analysis and fault current calculations.
• Prepare technical documentation, including design reports, installation guides, and bill of materials.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Proven experience in electrical design, preferably within the renewable energy , power generation, or industrial sectors.
• Proficiency with electrical CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN).
• Strong understanding of electrical principles, power distribution, and control systems.
• Familiarity with energy storage systems and grid-connected applications is a plus.
